About jamesa46

I’ve been a baseball fan since the St. Louis
Cardinals were operating a farm team in Houston called the
Houston Buffs. I was born in Texas City, Texas – just shortly
before the Texas City Explosion. I’m a 7th generation Texan
and my mother was a member of the Daughters of the Republic
of Texas. I lived in Houston for over 20 years, growing up
listening to Gene Elston call Houston Colt .45’s/Astros games
since 1962. I’ve lived in North Texas for over 20 years and
followed both the Texas Rangers and Astros. I had the
pleasure of listening to the great Mark Holtz call Rangers
games before his untimely passing in 1997. I enjoy baseball
and baseball history. I’m a researcher and writer for the
Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. – James Anderson
